There is a lot going on on the farm right now. Wedding and honeymoon being planned, garden being grown, race cars being worked on over and over and over, children playing and lots of lovin. The countdown is on for summer to begin and we are all anxiously awaiting to begin sleeping in and swimming all day. James and I are officially getting hitched and are super excited about our July wedding in Hilton Head, SC. Dear Ole Daddy will be officiating and I couldn't be more tickled. I know he is nervous, but whatever he does or says the end result will be Mrs. Sandi Black..WOOHOO! We will follow up our beach wedding with a trip to Las Vegas the next week. YEEHAW. The kiddos are thrilled and it warms our hearts to see how content they are and the happiness in their voices while playing.
While children are playing James and I are busy planning and planting the garden. I am so proud of my farmer. He has worked diligently to get the garden planted, tilled and fertilized. Saturday my loving man decided he needed to till the garden so off he goes. He literally had the snot beat out of him by the tiller and was sooooo whiny Saturday night because tilling is such hard work. Maybe it would have been easier had he put the tiller in gear so it would have been self propelled??? Just a thought...hehe. We have tomatoes, corn, peppers, potatoes, spinach, and watermelon on its way. Last year we got 4 ears of corn and 10 tomatoes, so we can only hope to live up to last years standards.
While gardening Jimbo has simultaneously been tinkering on the race car. He says he's gonna get it running good, race it a couple of times and then sell it. Uhhhhh...whatever. I thoroughly enjoy watching him race, I just wish the stupid car would last longer than 2 laps without something going wrong...poor thing tries sooo hard.
Its funny how all this happens at the same time all at once pretty much every day. All while the kids are playing. Their new thing is Jerome's golf cart. They are completely obsessed and it is the first thing they want to do the minute we get home and they don't stop till it dies or bedtime. Whichever comes first. Kayla and Tate are pretty decent drivers, but the true entertainment is watching Gracie. She knows no other way to drive except pedal to the floor. Seriously. She has been airborne as many times as she has been on the ground. She looks one direction and drives the other. All while her passengers have this look of fear on their faces and are praying to make it to ground again. Guess she drives like her mama.
